I think about names a lot. Names are very important.
Some people have just the wrong names and don't realise they should be someone else. Some poeple wish they were someone else and chop their name into bits to make it fit better. Some people have the right name. Like me.
Katy. The whole of my first name. Not Katie, or Kate, or Katherine, just Katy. It works however old you are, it's not especially common or especially weird, it doesn't need shortening. It means me.
Then there's one of my cousins. She's Lindy. She is Lindy, but she changed herself to Rees. Madness, she's a Lindy, not a Rees.
If you've known me a decent length of time, I'll have mentioned my brother's name. If my mum had been a boy, she'd have been called Stephen. So would her sister. So would I. So would my sister.
My brother's name is Matthew.
So what's up with that?
